One in five women within five years of retirement have no retirement savings at all, reports the Daily Telegraph. Plus they can also look forward to a retirement income about a third lower than men of the same age. A survey also showed that while the average salary at age 60 was £25,480 the average pension (including state pension) was only £8,774.
As for most things, the earlier you start and the more committed you are to “the programme” the more likely it is that you will get somewhere close to achieving your objective.
