Estate Planning

Chancellor George Osborne had modest handouts for employees and businesses, with higher personal income tax allowances and capital allowances, but there was no good news for those with estates above the inheritance tax threshold. In his Autumn Statement, he confirmed the threshold would stay at £325,000 until April 2014, when it will rise by a smidgeon to £329,000.
The Chancellor made a big feature of allowances increasing by less than the rate of inflation as a way for the government to raise more money. It looks as if estate planners will be paying the price for several more years.
