Critical illness cover was a life saver

In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, a 41-year old teacher from Lincolnshire with two teenage daughters described her payout under a critical illness policy after she contracted breast cancer as a ‘life saver’.

Monique Oakley’s sick pay from her employer had run out, and the £90,000 payout enabled her and her husband Paul to pay off part of their mortgage. Monique described how he had insisted on them taking out the £62 per month policy after the birth of their first daughter.
