The Telegraph reported fresh research into the effects of the summer Budget by the Joseph Rowntree Trust.
Its research shows that the new measures in the summer Budget will result in pensioners being significantly better off by 2020, as will single working people. But families with children will tread water and the low paid will be worse off, it claims, since even the new higher Living Wage will not offset benefit cuts.
